Marjorie

Introducing Marjorie, a character deeply rooted in the remarkable story of Frederick Banting's pivotal role in the discovery of insulin and the vital contribution of dogs to this groundbreaking research. Inspired by the original Marjorie, who was known as Dog 33 in Banting's historic experiment, our character pays homage to this extraordinary chapter in medical history.

Marjorie holds a unique distinction as the one dog whom Banting insisted on naming, underscoring the profound connection that developed between the scientist and his four-legged companion. She played a pivotal role as the final canine subject in the rigorous testing process that confirmed the effectiveness of the insulin extract, paving the way for its transition to human trials.
